Privacy policy
Effective 23 October 2026
Blastek File Manager (“File Manager”) is published by Blastek. This policy covers the File Manager web app and the File Manager Android app. In short: your documents stay with you. File Manager has no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting, and Blastek does not collect, receive, sell or share your documents or records.
What stays on your device
Everything you add (documents, file names, receipts and warranty records, project packs, notes and checklists) is stored only on your device or in your browser. It is never uploaded to Blastek.
Web app: your vault is encrypted in this browser (AES-GCM, with a key derived from your vault passphrase) and kept in the browser's storage for the File Manager website. Your passphrase is never sent anywhere or stored.
Android app: your vault is kept in the app's private storage on your phone, protected by Android's app sandbox and the device's encryption. The Android app does not have internet permission, and Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are switched off for it.
What our web server receives
To open the web app, your browser downloads its pages and code from our server, like any website. Our hosting may record standard technical request information, such as IP address, browser type, the address requested and the time, in server logs used for security and operations. These requests never contain your documents, file names, record contents or passphrases.
The web app remembers your language in a cookie and your appearance setting in your browser's storage. They hold only those preferences.
Backups, exports and sharing
Backups are made only when you choose. A backup is one file encrypted with a backup passphrase you choose (PBKDF2-SHA-256 and AES-256-GCM). You decide where to save or share it.
Handover ZIP exports and files you open with or share to another app are not encrypted. Once you save or share a file through another app or service, that app's or service's own privacy terms apply.
Permissions
File Manager imports only the files you pick in the system file picker. It does not ask for access to your photos, camera, contacts, location or all the files on your device.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage or the web app's site data in your browser, or uninstall the app. Browsers can also remove website data on their own, for example when storage runs low.
Because Blastek never has a copy, we cannot restore lost data or recover a forgotten passphrase. Keep your own encrypted backups.
Children
File Manager is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children.
Security
No way of storing data is completely secure. Keep your device updated and protected with a screen lock, and use strong passphrases.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will publish the new version here with a new effective date.
